The Nintendo Revolution Controller - Skepticism Meets Reality

Well over the past week or so I have had plenty of time to sit back and take a critical look at the new nintendo Revolution controller. Initially, when I first saw the teaser I was excited about the possibilities the new controller offered. However after some more reflection and further reading, though I am still enthusiastic, I think there are some serious questions that need to be asked.

nintendo has been an innovator in the video game industry since the early 1980s. From the very beginning, nintendo engineers have had to prove themselves. The introduction of the analogue controller and even the rumble pack was met with a great deal of skepticism, yet are considered industry standards today. However, a single hand remote style controller is arguably a much larger innovation and is met with even more skepticism.

It has been reported on several websites that the Nintendo Revolution will be compatible with gamecube titles. Of course this raises questions on how the new controller will function with these games

What we are telling people right now is that there are several peripherals in the works that will be used for the older games, said Perrin Kaplan, vice President of Marketing and Corporate Affairs for nintendo. Of course, people will be able to plug their gamecube controller right in and use that, but if they want, they can use the Revolutions peripherals for an entirely new and fresh experience.

Will gamers be able to adapt to a single hand controller? I think the answer to this question will depend on game developers. The success of the controller and the console for that matter depends on whether-or-not game developers will be able to produce games which compliment the new controller.

This also raises questions over game cross-over from one system to another. With the introduction of a whole new controller, effectively changing the way we play games, well we see a drop in big title games available for multiple systems?

With the release of the new teaser and a slew of new images, people are forgetting that the new nintendo Revolution controller is not at the final design stage.

No, this is not the final design. You wont see that until the release is here, but we are getting much closer, explained Kaplan.

Over the next several months, more information will become available. Information which will either put much of the skepticism to rest, or more likely, create even more. With a product like the nintendo Revolution controller, apprehension and skepticism are natural, making this a critical time for nintendo. With the release of the Xbox before the end of 2005 and the processing power of the Playstation 3 Nintendo really does have to come up with something revolutionary to compete in the next generation game console market. Does Nintendo really have something special for us? only time well tell.

Buying Wholesale Sports Apparel

When people want to dress well even when playing basketball or football, the clothes worn have to fit the part. This means wearing something like Fubu, nike or reebok instead of some cheap knockoff that will get torn after a few washes.

The quality of the thread used plays a big part in the cost of the shirt. Discounts or sale events only happen when the season is about to end so if the person wants to be in style, the customer has no choice but to pay for it.

Is there no way to get a good bargain? Yes there is because there are sites on the web that buy these from suppliers at wholesale then sell it to people at rock bottom prices.

An example could be a nike pair of shorts that will cost $24.99 in the sporting goods store. Believe it not, these same item can be purchased off the internet for just $8.99. This means the customer can almost get three items for the price of one.

Things like these are considered to be a good bargain and those who want it will just have to give the credit card details and once approved, the company will have this prepared and delivered to the clients home in a few days.

There is another reason why many people are using online wholesale websites aside from the price. The individual can go online anytime since the store is open 24 hours a day seven times a week so there wont be any pressure in looking over any time before deciding to purchase it.

Though there might be a problem with the fitting, this can be avoided by going into a store and fitting a similar item.

online sites dont only sell clothes but other items as well. If the customer is satisfied with the matching top and bottom, there are also sports accessories such as socks, shoes and bags that can be taken to the gym, court or field.

Being fashionable doesnt always mean shelling out a lot of money as long as there are online stores that are able to buy these and sell it at discounted prices. The person will just have to find it in the internet to be able to look and feel good instead of waiting for few months to pass when these retailers go for the end of season sale.

Vancouver, Hidden Jewel Of The Pacific Northwest

Vancouver will receive a lot of attention as the 2010 Olympics approach, but why wait to visit during the most crowded, tourist deluged period since they hosted Expo 86?

Skiing and winter sports will receive the lion's share of attention during the 2010 Olympics - it is the Winter Olympics, after all - but summer is Vancouver's best season.

After a fall and winter of grey skies and rainy days, Vancouver emerges to a summer of endless blue skies, gorgeous ocean views and warm but fairly dry climate. This is when you want to come to Vancouver!

There are 5 star hotels available on the waterfront in downtown Vancouver, but there are two great hostels, one just off the famous gay area of Davie Street - its maybe six blocks of the shopping area of Robson Street as well - or another across from Jericho beach, looking across at downtown Vancouver. Very well run, situated in spectacular spots, and cheap!

Vancouver is famous for international cuisine. Sushi, Thai food, Greek, italian, french, Indian, Chinese - but not just run of the mill varieties - some world class representatives of every type of cuisine. Hy's Steak House is a venerable, 50 year old steak house. Cioppinno's has the kind of italian cooking where everyone at the table raved about having the best______ they'd ever had. C Restaurant on the water has the best seafood. Bishop's has been rated the best restaurant for years, but Rob Feenie at Lumiere has won the Iron Chef competition. There are probably 300 outstanding restaurants in Vancouver!

What to do? Stanley Park is second only to central Park in new York for size of an urban park - and it is simply spectacular, surrounded by the ocean. Over in north Vancouver, cross the Capilano Suspension Bridge, swinging side to side, 300 feet over the Capilano River. There are 3 ski hills poised overlooking Vancouver, so great sightseeing - take the gondola up to the top of Grouse Mountain. Storeum in Gastown is a new tourist attraction - find out about BC's history. See Vancouver Canucks hockey, BC Lions football, Whitecaps soccer and catch a "nooner" at Nat bailey stadium and watch Vancouver Canadians baseball.

Granville Street is the entertainment district, with bars lined on both sides of the street, including the Yale, Vancouver's old time blues bar. There is a gay district with most gay bars on Davie Street. There is a Pride parade in August, and four nights of the Symphony of Fire fireworks competition - just you and 400,000 of your closest friends watching fireworks timed to music!

Though you'd never need to leave Vancouver, there are great side trips to Victoria (more english than England), Tofino, Vancouver Island and smaller Gulf Islands, Whistler, and the always scorching hot Okanagan Lake. believe me, you WILL find lots to do!
